Kenneth S Birnbaum is founder and president of Peartree Development and has 24 years of real estate experience. His firm is devoted primarily to the development and sale of residential properties in the DC Metropolitan Area. In addition, Mr. Birnbaum has advised on numerous real estate projects in New York City, Philadelphia and Richmond, as well as in Mexico and China. He places a high priority on understanding and meeting his buyers’ needs and on complying with both the letter and the spirit of the legal and regulatory framework of the jurisdictions in which he operates.
Prior to founding Peartree Development, Mr. Birnbaum specialized in financing residential mortgages. He also was a budget director for a municipal government agency, was counsel to a Member of Congress, and served in the administration of President Carter as congressional liaison.
Mr. Birnbaum is actively involved in his community, having served on the boards of The Helen Hayes Theater Awards and The Hebrew Home for the Aged. He is an advisor to the Pregnancy Aid Center in Prince George’s County, most recently helping to negotiate its purchase of a new headquarters building, and a tutor to at-risk elementary school students in Virginia.
Mr. Birnbaum earned his JD and MBA degrees from Columbia University and his undergraduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
